Alan's Ethos

For me, this band represents a very new and exciting challenge. Having trained for so many years with my roots firmly planted in classical music, this is refreshing for me to be involved in such an exciting new project. This is relatively new territory for me, but being in the company of such talented musicians in Symbiotick, I feel ready and confident about this challenge.

I feel we have an excellent advantage in writing music as we can incorporate all that we are studying into our music and sound. For me, the ideas that we have and the lyrics written, if performed well, will touch those who listen to the band intently. I believe that we will create a mood and atmosphere that will not leave many people for a long time. If you believe in what you are singing or playing, it will come across a lot better than giving no thought to the performance and if you do something well you should always seek to improve on it, which is exactly what we will be doing. What pleases me is the fact that our music will never sound the same and repeat on other pieces, there are too many ideas floating around for that to happen.

What do you get if you cross the panache and sophistication of "classical" music with the drive and violence of rock? You'll have to wait and see!
